Change is a funny thing, it brings about a whole mix bag of emotions. You need change, it helps us grow, and helps us develop, but its scary. I like things to stay the same, and have minimal change, I like structure and predictability ( why I love marathon training!). But change is good, the uncomfortable is good, the bumps are good, the scary is good. What are your thoughts on change? Want to risk some big challenges, make some changes with me?
Change #1 of the week. A Work Out Change:
I took my first Recycle class and holy hard work out. The class was HARD. I was legit DRIPPING Sweat within the first 5 mins. The class is done in the dark, with high beat music and candles. You peddle to the beat of the music. You can’t see how hard you are turning the resistance so you just go on feel, which I love. If you are crazy competitive with yourself like me, then this class is awesome, because you just keep turning up the resistance. They also added in some push ups, and 2 lbs weights ( they felt like 30 lbs in class), to get a full body work out. This was my first experience here and I really loved the work out. We went for a friends fundraiser, she is riding in the Pan Mass Challenge, so it was an awesome introduction to the studio and class that I may not have tried otherwise. I highly recommend checking it out! If you check out : https://marbleheadmarathoner.com/2016/01/18/weekend-round-up-6/img_2137/ let me know your thoughts! Do you like Spinning?
Change #2: Challenging my mind and mixing it with my passion.
My passion and love for fitness and healthy living run pretty deep. I am really interested for myself to learn more about the body, how it works, how I can become the best athlete, and how I can motivate others to do this as well. Going back to learning from a text book is HARD WORK. I think I am going to take a few hands on classes, meet up with some CPT friends, and try a hands on learning approach as well. Any recommendations for how to learn all the bones/ muscles in the body?
Change# 3 of the Week: Letting someone else by my clothing AKA Stich Fix.
Have you heard of Stich Fix? It’s pretty simple and straight forward, and they items I have received are perfect for me size and price wise. Simply fill out your style profile, and a personal stylist will handpick five items just for you. Cost for the styling fee is $20.00 but if you buy any item for your fix you get it credited toward the item. If you buy all 5 items you get a 25% discount. Check it out here and let me know your thoughts! The best part is if you don’t like anything they give you a pre paid return shipment bag, and you can send everything back free of charge ( you do lose the $20.00 styling fee). In this shipment I got a cross bag, jeans, tank top, and two dresses. I loved the fit of everything and was shocked that they could get jeans, a tank, and 2 dresses to fit me so well. I am keeping the jeans and a dress. I loved all the items but have too many bags and tank tops already ( hence why I am returning those).
Change #4 of the Week: Enjoying FREE Concerts this summer.
Berklee College is offering some great concerts throughout Boston this summer. It is always a “Bucket List” summer must see for me to check out, and I often miss them! I got to check them out at the Prudential Mall on my lunch break yesterday and it was just such a nice, relaxing way to spend a few moments. They also offer them throughout the city so make sure you check one of the concerts out this summer via their schedule here. I noticed they have some performances on the Greenway on Friday nights so will be checking those out soon.
So lets embrace some changes together, it’s less scary that way! What are you scared to change in your life?
The sunrises and sunsets always change but they are always beautiful!
Change will be scary, but it will always be for the best.
