How was your weekend?
I am trying to make my weeks in the summer just as FUN as my weekends. How do you make your mid-week feel like a Saturday? Can you believe the 4th of July is already almost here!
One of my Summer Bucket List items was to go HERE. So I signed up for this RACE and will be running on the island in September ( not really still summer, but still counts!). You should sign up and run it with me! Yay go do it, they have a 5K and a 5 Mile Option, go sign up too!
For starters I have been taking an hour or two vacation time on Friday afternoons to make my weekends feel a little longer but not use too much vacation time. It is working pretty well and makes Friday’s fly by and the weekend feel more relaxed and enjoyable!
Friday I hit up the farmers market. I really do think the veggies and fruits are healthier, and less expensive and your supporting local farmers, but some veggies I have legit no idea what they are. Just me? Anyone else surprised they don’t know what veggies are what sometimes ha.
Surprisingly I never had a problem remembering Ice Creams, kinds, flavors, or trying the unknown of those ha. Don’t worry I ate a lot of varieties of ice cream this weekend.
You would think I would be all about healthy eating, and all fitness all the time, but that would not be further from the truth. I think you need BALANCE in everything you do! The three main things I do always try to keep going are:
I am a big believer that if you are hydrated, rested, and recovered in life and fitness you can achieve some great things. Eating healthy, adding cross training, hitting the hills- yes they all help, improve, and get you closer to your goals, but without Sleep, Hydration, and Recovery you don’t have a good foundation. And do you really want to build on some shaky land?!
My weekend was a perfect mix of relaxing, doing, and playing! Saturday morning I did a 1.5 hour Burn90 class and I was feeling it. We had to carry a “device” for the class that weighted 20 lbs. It made me realize the extra effort carrying around any extra weigh it! I was huffing and puffing on the hills with my sand bag! I then had to get my car inspected which is just so much fun I can barely handle it! ha. I also got to hang out with this little man on Saturday! LEGIT. HAPPIEST. BABY. EVER! His parents went out to a friends and wanted to enjoy the summer night and some wine so took their bikes, how awesome is that- a new must do try for date night out when you both want to relax and enjoy!
Don’t get to worried that little A and J were left out this weekend, the are always part of the weekend fun. We did breakfast/ morning by boat on Sunday and it was perfect weather. I absolutely love watching my dad interact with them, it melts my heart and makes me filled with so much love. He moves slower and more cautiously with them, and lets them lead the pace and explore.
The Lynx ship was also in town so we got to explore that. Little miss A taught us all about the pirates and the ropes and sails. J man was more inquisitive about where the cannons were and where the real pirates were.
We also did a Baby Bootcamp style work out on Sunday, and I got to say A and J really got some moves. Check out the little bear crawlers.
Totally random side note by I HATE Iguana’s. Sharks and wild chickens, but Iguana’s live in St. Thomas and whenever I visit or think about visiting they are always there I can’t get away, and I know they will ate me whole if they get me so lets just say I avoid them. My sister sent me this, and it totally applies to me and Iguana’s. Do you have an animal you wouldn’t mind seeing GONE!
Also I got to enjoy the Muffin Shop Iced Coffee this weekend a few times and it is 110% the best Iced COFFEE in the world. Ask anyone that’s tried it, it is the best by far.
See you just need to sign up and run the 5 Miler with me in September, You’ll get to try the worlds best Iced Coffee and I promise it will be Iguana free.
Happy Monday and Holiday Week! Enjoy the moments!
