The Rest of My Turkey Weekend…

Happy Tuesday!
I am sadly sick sick sick…I got the FLU shot on Wednesday and am wondering if that is what made me feel so crappy? Anyone else get sick from the flu shot? I didn’t move from bed yesterday, and am attempting a half day at the office today ( wish me luck) so no fitness for me today or yesterday, but thanks to Burpees to Bubbly 24 day’s of Happy Healthy Fit I got a little movement today up the stairs!

Also I noticed this 2014 Gift Buying List for the runner in your life and absolutely love all these options…hint hint Santa. I mean who wouldn’t want these, these, or this. Also here are 31 FREE First Fitness Classes in Boston. So really no reason not to get moving this December!

On Friday we went HERE to get our family Christmas tree. Do you cut down a tree, have a tree, get a fake tree? If you like to cut down a tree I would recommend going here, they also had pre cut and we got one there too ( we get a few trees for the different houses).

Then after getting our tree we headed to see the Zoo Light’s at the Stone Zoo. This is one of my favorite new Christmas tradition’s we do.

Saturday we got to celebrate a very special Bride to Be at her Wedding Shower. I absolutely love getting to shower the special people in my life, and it was so fun celebrating L. ( The baby is her niece- and adorable!)

And to round out the weekend Sunday we went here. Think of it like an adult Spartan/ Tough Mudder/ Playground. Sunday’s weather was sunny and warm, a perfect Spring feeling day in December. If you like obstacle races I recommend checking this place out.

Wednesday Workouts

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
It’s about 50 degrees in Boston today, and amazingly beautiful out. Can’t wait to walk around at lunch and enjoy this nice day! Did you guys get out and vote last night? I taught class until 7 in Boston and rushed home to make the voting before polls closed at 8. I made it with about 60 seconds to go.

Made it!

My friend over at Burpees to Bubbly asked me to do a little post on what my TREAD TABATA class was so I wanted to share. I am a certified teacher in Kathy G’s Tread Tabata and teach it at Beantown Bootcamp on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.
The class is structured as a HIIT workout. A HIIT workout stands for High Intensity Interval Training.
We work off of a Tabata clock ( Tabata mean’s 8 rounds of exercises 20 seconds maximum effort 10 seconds rest). We spit the class between Treads and Floors. If you start on a Tread you will end on the floor and vise versa.
Example Class:
Treadmill ( 8 rounds 20 seconds on high intensity, 10 seconds rest)
60 Seconds Rest
Floor ( 8 rounds of exercises 20 seconds on 10 seconds rest)

And I like to finish with about 5 mins of solid abs 🙂

Benefits:
  • Increase athletic performance
  • Increase cardio vascular capacity
  • Boost V02 max
  • Decrease body fat
  • Improves muscle tone
  • Fat shredding also occurs up to 24 hours post exercise- “afterburm effect”
  • Burn 750-1000 calories per class

The class is an ALL LEVEL class, and if you are intrested in learning more, trying the class for free please e mail me. I offer it Tuesday nights 6-7pm and Thursday mornings 6:30am-7:30am at Beantown Bootcamp ( 90 Canal St Boston MA) located right next to North Station, free parking before 8 am, and Green Line/ Orange Line T stop. E mail me [email protected] if you want to join a class!

Unless you puke, faint or die, keep going!

A part I think is so important in any class is the dynamic, teacher, participants and MUSIC! I always like to find songs with a fast enough beat, are not over played, and people can dance along to when they feel exhausted. Here is my November List. What am I missing? What should I add?
