Tuesday but no Track

Today is a RAINY Tuesday in Boston. I sort of love rainy days, and yes I love them when I can stay inside, but I really love them for how, by simply smiling you can make peoples days better.

My tuesday even though it’s rainy is off to a great start! We have a wonderful friend with us for the week, and it truly makes our house so busy it’s just amazing! It’s so fun having visitors especially ones from Italy!

So since there was no TRACK WORKOUT for you today I wanted to share something I know I need more of in my life, and assume many other runners do too. YOGA. YOGA for RUNNER’s via COREPOWER.

I really do need more Yoga in my life, so hopefully these quick and easy moves help me. While I am on the track to take care of my body I should maybe think about my mind too. Have you ever heard the quote, 90% is mental in sports. I completely agree with this. I am a headcase in sports sometimes, and just need to remind myself of my training. But in the meantime if your like me then maybe we should read this book

and…of course I do have a workout for you but it’s not a TRACK TUESDAY one, sorry, bust it does focus on the LEGs, so it’s sort of the same thing, and it made me sore, and brought my heart rate right up.

Also we have gotten into the HALLOWEEN SPIRIT already and our house. My mom absolutely loves holiday’s so growing up they were always a huge deal! Which I loved. Now she does them all out with A and J and it’s just seriously so much fun. I came home to find a Pirate and a Nice Princess Witch at the door.

What are you guys being for HALLOWEEN?

Are you a mental headcase before/ during/ after races?

Do you do Yoga?

Spartan Beast Completed!

This weekend I was in Killington Vermont competing in the Spartan Beast. It was 16+ miles and the hardest race I have ever done, at points I was crawling up the mountain with 75+ pounds of logs, rocks and/or sand bags. It was HARD! But it was completed and I seriously had a blast. There was everything from monkey bars, to open water swims, to javelin throwing. Since photo’s are always more fun here are a few from the weekend.

All Cleaned Up.

All Cleaned Up.

If you skipped a challenge you had to do 60 Burpees, if you failed the challenge it was 30. To say I did over 200 Burpees is an understatement, it was probably around 350+ Burpees. I did conquer some things I never thought I could, and my arms gave out on ones I thought would be easy. You also needed to remember a code and were asked it at a specific point in the course. Mine was Victor-056-2484. The raced challenged you mentally, emotionally and physically. We finished in right around 10 hours, and were beat, but it was so worth it! I will be back in 2015!!!!

A huge thank you to my BEANTOWN BOOTCAMP family for helping me train and accomplish this race. I would NOT have survived without you guys! If you live in Boston and want to train for your best race yet, join us at Beantown Bootcamp, you will be prepared for anything!

HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND?

ARE YOU READY FOR FALL?

ANY FUN UPCOMING PLANS?

WOULD/ HAVE YOU EVER DO A SPARTAN RACE?
